January 8 ~ fun with cross-polarization
This was more of a technical curiosity than a compositional triumph. It is amazing, though, to look through the viewfinder and see an apparently clear piece of plastic turn psychedelic as it passes between a polarized light source and a polarizing filter. I wanted to emphasize the color content more than the subject, so I used the close-focus filters again to eliminate the distraction of what, exactly, the viewer is looking at.
Gear: Nikon D90, 50mm f/1.4 lens, close focus filters, circular polarizer, computer screen, weakened plastic
